As only few hours remain for the superstar Rajnikanth’s return in much hyped don avatar, fans, distributors and producers have their fingers crossed.
Though no one can quite point out the step-by-step boost that the Kabali promotions have taken, the return of Rajnikanth to his most-liked and turning point character of stylish don Bhasha can be one of its prominent selling point.
The movie sets to hit over 4500 theatres in India and 400 in the US. But, some of Rajni’s films which had a big release in the past like Baba and Lingaa have been disasters as well. In fact, some distributors who had incurred losses tries to stay Kabali, even earlier today, but the Madras High Court dismissed their plea, giving a breather to the film’s producers.
Some initial reports from a preview show in US have been not so encouraging. Sources suggest that a two minute video of Rajni’s entry scene was leaked on the internet as well.
Despite the setbacks, the movie is expected to make anywhere around Rs 500 crores minimum, as Rs 200 crores have already been reportedly made through corporate and other sales, deals and rights. The movie said to be made on a budget of Rs 100 crores.
