Congress party has showed a dismal performance in the recently concluded election in five different states of India.
The results in the recently concluded elections in five different states of India have been the matter of concern for the struggling Congress party who lost its ground at many places in India. Barring Puducherry it was a shocker for the party in all the four states, where they cannot even retain its previous number but lost the elections badly. The biggest shocker is Assam, where Congress could not continue the government for the next term and BJP won Assam with a good performance.
The Congress spokesperson came out in the support of party chief Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi, as they cannot be held responsible for the defeats in Assam and Kerala and the poor show by the party in Jayalalithaa’s Tamil Nadu and Mamata’s West Bengal. The party senior leaders and members are pinning hope on the elevation of Rahul Gandhi as the President of congress party.
The general secretary of Congress P.C. Chacko expressed the views of party members by saying “The wish of the Congress workers and leaders is that Rahulji should take over. The process of his elevation cannot be stopped”.
