Unique ‘Goodwill Store’ in Hyderabad Allows Poor to Shop for Free

This unique store offers variety of clothes, stationery supplies, footwear, and utensils donated by people for the under-privileged poor.

The store popularly known as ‘Goodwill Store’ located at Ayodhya Nagar, Mehdipatnam area in Hyderabad has been functioning for the poor to walk into the store and pick whatever they like without paying a single penny. The Goodwill Store offer wide range of items which includes clothes, stationery supplies, footwear and utensils among other things, which the store receives as donations from people.

Customers are much satisfied as they could get clothes for their entire family at once. Each person is allowed to pick up three clothes for per visit and are allowed to return to the store after three months for taking fresh items on display. Manjula Krishnan, founder of LSN Foundation says there are few who recognise the basic needs of the homeless people and she has been working to fill this gap since 2007.

The foundation has requested the people to give us things which are not in use, but in good condition so that the needy one can make use of it, who cannot afford to buy such things and Manjula also says her foundation does not intend to promote charity.
