Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has remarked that Judicial bodies must draw their own ‘Lakshman Rekha’ not to interfere with the executive decisions.
He insisted that all institutions must draw Lakshman Rekha, which is very vital. He said that the executive decisions should be taken by the executive and not by the judiciary.
Speaking to media at Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC) in New Delhi. Mr. Jaitley referred to the Supreme Court decision on National Eligibility Entrance Test where several States are asking for a exemption at least for few years.
“Can those who are dissimilar in language and unequal be placed on the pedestal of quality and asked to give the same exam?” Jaitley questioned.
He suggested that Legislature and Executive should not be compromised in the name of the independence of judiciary.
